Pick & Place / Assembly robots

SCARAs (Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm) are industrial robots that can move in 4 degrees of freedom. They are often used in repetitive pick & place applications to transfer a component from one side to the other. In addition, they are also suitable for the assembly of electrical circuit boards (THT mounting), dispensing, for clamping or splitting tasks or for post inspection and quality control. If required, a camera can be attached to the SCARA head to automatically determine the pick-up and placement position of the handled product.
The strength of SCARA robots are the fast and repeatable movements due to the interaction of the rotational movements of X-, Y- and R-axis. Several options are available to expand the working space. For example, an additional 5th axis can be attached to the tool flange for swiveling movements in the Z direction or the entire SCARA robot can be mounted on a linear axis.
What makes our SCARAs standing out from the competition is the YAMAHA-unique direct drive technology for beltless, smooth power transmission in all 4 axes. The tip rotation axis is directly connected to the speed reduction gear to achieves overwhelming high-rigidity, high-speed and high-accuracy.
Through YAMAHA’s beltless technology, lifetime & performance increase significantly while maintenance costs will be minimized.
As a technology frontrunner with more than 40 years of experience in industrial robot making, YAMAHA provides a vast range of different models, from the world’s tiniest up to the biggest SCARA with a maximum payload of 50 kgs.
Different types are available for specific requirements, such as:
- wall mounting
- inverse mounting
- dust / drip protection (IP65)
- clean room
